The State of Vermont spends $403,000 a year on "offshore outsourcing" for "electronic benefit transfer" (EST) for food stamp call centers. This information comes from a report entitled "Your Tax Dollars At Work ... Offshore: How Foreign Outsourcing Firms Are Capturing State Government Contracts" prepared by the Washington Alliance of Technology Workers (Local 37083, Communication Workers of America, AFL-CIO, www.washtech.org).
The Coalition for National Referendum believes that it is unethical, immoral and outrageous that the State of Vermont is spending our tax dollars employing people in foriegn countries.
It is time this is STOPPED.
